poem feed (What is a feed?)
previous poems
Poems written on this day in years gone by:
Coming here the landscape starkly changed,
All thistles brew and boil between the times,
The trees drag on in gnarly obstinance,
They're beautiful though hardy in the breeze.
Laying hands,
And I open up my soul to song,
I praise you as I've known for long:
You've gifted me fellowship in my home,
Faithful friends - brethren of my bone,
And you've made a family line your own,
From broken families new life sown.
Tinkered trying at a lock,
Not picking but unscrewing,
Not pinching but in view to fix,
A sagging handle weakly holding,
Alas, alas, the door has been hard nosed,
I cried to Internet he too was lost.
For I know little of the grubby screws,
So little of the things I need,
To convince the barring metal to unloose.
